Here are some keyboard shortcuts and quick fixes.
When manually digitizing, use the space bar to both register and toggle between two
digitizing functions. For example, if you are alternating between a satin line and a single line traveling stitch. First
use the space bar to register the satin line. Press the space bar again to toggle back to the single line traveling stitch. After you have traveled with the single line to the next area you want the satin. Press space bar again to register the traveling
stitch, then press again to toggle back to the satin stitch. The space bar will continue to toggle between the last two types
of manual digitizing used.
These hints and shortcuts are so helpful when digitizing:
1. To zoom on a specific area
of a design, hold down the B key on the keyboard, and drag a box over the area with your mouse.
2. Click 0(zero) on the
keyboard to center your design on the screen. Try this when your design has scrolled off into the great unknown and you can’t
find it.
3. It is recommended you use a mouse for digitizing, even with a laptop computer.
4. To deactivate a
selected tool, press ESC on the keyboard or Stop on the top menu bar.
5. The Maze box is a black square within a square
that represents the location of the last stitch. To remove the maze box from the screen to see the design better, touch the
B key on the keyboard. To continue working n your design, click ESC or Stop, or click on an empty spot on the screen. When
the maze box is removed from the screen, many of the digitizing functions are deactivated.
6. With a selected design on
the screen, a Right Click will bring up the Objects Details Dialog box.
7. To reshape an object, first select the object,
and then press H on the keyboard.
8. When reshaping an object, the space bar allows you to change a selected reshaping
point, i.e. “right click” to “left click” and “left click” to “right click.”
9. Use the space bar to go back and forth
between tools. An example would be using Parallel Fill for leaves, and Run Line to “walk” down the steam between the leaves. Using
the space bar will take you back and forth between the tools you are using.
10. When using Click to Design, the Detail
option applies to the black areas of the graphic. The Fills option applies to the colored areas of the design and the recommended
choice is Auto Select.
11. Slow Redraw allows you to view how an embroidery design will sew out. You have the ability
to adjust the speed control so you clearly see the sewing sequence.
12. The dongle security device is small and can easily
be lost. Attach your dongle to a lanyard, a bright keychain, or anything else that can be easily visible. Store your dongle
along with your other computer components.
